This week we're sitting down with 2 journalists to talk about what's been making news in the North Country, as well as in Albany and across the state these past few weeks. Joining us this week are Pat Bradley, who is the North Country Bureau Chief for WAMC Northeast Public Radio, and Alek LaShomb, who is the Plattsburgh Bureau Chief for WCAX-TV. We discuss New York Governor Kathy Hochul’s State of the State and Budget Address from the past couple of weeks. Hochul outlining her vision and priorities for the new legislative session that includes dealing with the fallout from the Trump Administration's budget cuts, as well as making life more affordable for New Yorkers. The Governor outlined planned improvements to affordable housing initiatives, lowering costs for car insurance, and statewide universal childcare. The Governor also unveiled her record $260-billion executive budget plan. We talk with our panel about what’s included for the North Country, and how lawmakers are reacting to her budget proposal. We also talk with the reporters about the Miracle On Ice recreation that was held at the Olympic Center in Lake Placid as well as a very old shipwreck that has been discovered in Lake Champlain that may predate the Revolutionary War.
