Matthew Mio, PhD is a professor at the University of Detroit Mercy, where he teaches the infamously difficult course of Organic Chemistry. However, Dr. Mio uses this talk as an opportunity to explore the way that people digest information, offering us all a way to improve our abilities to learn new material. Dr. Matthew Mio is a Professor at the University, teaching Organic Chemistry. Dr. Mio received his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in Chemistry. Dr. Mio has received numerous grants and awards since joining the University, including the ACS Distinguished Service Award and the Science Faculty of the Year award. Dr. Mio is also a notable member of the American Chemical Society, deeply interested in restructuring and improving scientific pedagogy in the lecture, laboratory and research settings.
