Maybe even a jackpot (a few treats in a row) to let your dog know that was exactly what you wanted. Give a Break: After a big win, dogs sometimes need a mental reset. Take a short break (30 seconds to a minute), then try again. Don’t rush to repeat right away. Lower the Criteria Slightly: If your dog doesn’t repeat it, they might not fully understand what earned the reward. Go back a step—reinforce approximations or parts of the behavior again to build confidence.
