During the Meuse-Argonne offensive, the Americans attack the Germans early in the morning. Pinned down by machine guns, York find sa different route to the German trenches and has himself a turkey shoot. About Sergeant York (Theatrical Release - September 25, 1941): When Tennessee farmer Alvin York is drafted, he enters the military as a conscientious objector, refusing to use violence against anyone. Although a born leader and patriot, the deeply religious York goes to the front still believing in nonviolence. But when his unit is overwhelmed by Germans, Sergeant York takes up arms to defend his friends. Single-handed, he stops a German offensive and takes 132 prisoners.
