In this episode, I leave Buriram behind and head to Surin, a city known for elephants, quiet streets, and an unexpectedly large scale that can’t be explored in just two days. I wait for the train not on the platform, but inside Amazon Coffee with other young locals escaping the heat. I edit videos, watch vendors pass by the window at 50 km/h, and slowly transition from one city’s rhythm to another. After arriving at Surin Railway Station, greeted by an elephant statue, I check into a budget hotel and immediately explore the city by Grab motorcycle. What I thought was the city center turns out to be just a small piece of a much bigger Surin. This is not about romance or nightlife—this is about movement, observation, and the quiet reality of traveling through rural Thailand one city at a time.
