Full walkthrough of a South Western Railway (SWR) class 458 train. This video is a full walkthrough inside all 5 carriages of a class 458 EMU (Electric Multiple Unit). The class 458 are currently only operated by South Western Railway and are one of the train fleets which previously operated with South West Trains. All the class 458 unit are DC third rail electric trains with all units fitted for DC only operation. They are related in design to the class 334 Juniper units in service with ScotRail and all units are still in the old SWT livery with SWR branding. The class 458 have been in service on London Waterloo suburban routes with SWR for a number of years. Each unit is now standard class throughout as although there is a small first class area at each end this is now usually declassified. Seating is 2+2 throughout with large amounts of standing area available, doors are at the 1/3 and 2/3 positions along each of the 5 carriages and there are end gangways fitted to the ends of each train. The class 458 are currently used on suburban services out of London Waterloo. They usually operate on Windsor line services including services to Weybridge via Virginia Water, Reading, Windsor & Eton Riverside and the Hounslow loop. The class 458 were going to leave SWR when the class 701 Arterio units enter service on all suburban SWR services. However as the refurbished class 442 unois have now left SWR the class 458 may be retained by SWR and fully refurbished to operate services on the Portsmouth Direct line from London Waterloo to Portsmouth Harbour via Guildford. #SouthWesternRailway #Class458 #SWR
