Zambia Mourns Beloved Actress Wanga Zulu, Star of Mpali

By Ellen Hambuba Actress Wanga Zulu , widely known for her role as Mai Guru in local drama series, Mpali, has passed away. Social media is awash with messages of condolence following the passing of Ms Zulu. Her close friend and fellow Nguzu wife, Anna Munamonga , alias Mwiza, shared her grief on Facebook in a short message. And Information and Media Permanent Secretary Thabo Kawama has described Ms. Zulu as a warrior. In his facebook posting, Mr. Kawana credited Ms. Zulu for her countless efforts in raising awareness about cancer. In 2014, Ms Zulu announced how she was diagnosed with cancer and sought treatment for it. And filmmaker and Mpali creator Frank Sibbuku who has announced the death of Ms Zulu on his facebook page has described Ms. Zulu as a true legend of Zambian arts. Mr. Sibbuku says Ms Zulu was the heart of Mpali, a cherished presence through all its seasons.
