Secrets to Learning Faster with Top Ten Scientifically based Music Practice Tips! Video interview with my friend Molly Gebrian (musician and Neuroscience researcher) – on playing better, instrumental skill learning, practising more efficiently and learning music faster By having a rough understanding of how our brain works, we can start to get our own biology working for us – which is good news when it comes to effective bass practice strategies. This is where it gets interesting for us bass players, because we can help this process along, and use it to our advantage with how we think, and how we practice – The following video has been compiled from my own observations gained from 25 years as a music teacher, and based on the research of K. Anders Ericsson, Dr. Robert A. Bjork, Dr. Carol Dweck, Dr. Andrew Huberman, Stephen Kotler and Dr. Molly Gebrian – all of whom are worth researching, and can be found on YouTube. Professor Molly Gebrian has a deep interest in understanding how people learn and experience music. Dr. Gebrian has degrees in neuroscience and viola performance, having completed her Doctor of Musical Arts in viola performance from Rice University's Shepherd School of Music and also holds graduate degrees in viola performance from the New England Conservatory of Music, and bachelor’s degrees from Oberlin College and Conservatory of Music, in both viola performance and neuroscience. Molly has published papers, served as Assistant Director of two interdisciplinary conferences on music and the brain, and has presented on topics having to do with music and neuroscience across the country. Molly has also made numerous appearances on the Bulletproof Musician podcasts with performance psychologist and Juilliard alumnus faculty member Noa Kageyama, Ph.D. – investigating “practice hacks” for practicing more effectively and playing to your full potential. ► For PDF links simply email petelindemerebass@hotmail.co.uk BOOK A LESSON TODAY ► https://mymusiclessons.org.uk/teacher...
