ADA Shower Trailer / Portable Restroom + 2 Station Combo | Elite Series

The elite series trailer had been the workhorse of the industry since 2003. They offer a full line of ADA style trailers including the ADA +2 shower combo that we’re about to see. Let's start with the setup and the ease of the 1 touch hydraulic controls on this. So once we’re unhooked from the tow vehicle and we’re ready to start setup in position, we start by lowering the a-frame of the trailer down. Once this is all the way down to the ground, we’;ll go back and take a look at the hydraulics. Now that the front end is all the way down on the ground we’re going to pull the safety pins for the hydraulic system. There’s a lockout pin on here so we just remove that, pull the pin out. There’s one on each side, once you pull both, we’re ready to lower the trailer down. So now both pins are pulled, we can get into the service closet here and get to the hydraulic controls. It is on a magnetic pendant here so you can pull that here and we want to go down. We're going to hit this button and it will make some noise coming up and down, that’s nothing to worry about. All the way down to the ground. Now you can, with this system, stop once this trailer’s down or you can even lift the tires up. It will go into a negative. So now we have the trailer all the way on the ground, we’re leveled up, and we're ready to start putting on the steps, and handrails, lowering the porches, ramps, and getting everything setup for entrance here. The steps are stored in the service closet around back along with the handrails for the standard units, and then for the handicap accessible or the ADA as we know it, it's on the rack on the other side of the trailer. Let’s go take a look at those. To drop the steps, porches, and landings, they are bolted shut for travel, and it takes a 9/16ths, you can use a wrench,socket, rachet, whatever you want. We use a small impact here and a wrench to hang onto it, just to make it a little easier for us. We’re going to get everything loosened up, and just leave these in place for right now, so that we can come back with the steps. And then we can lower it down safely. Now the ada ramp is ready to lower down once we pull these out so I’ll go ahead and walk through that at this time. Once we pull our bolts, it should be held in by the electric winch up top. It also has a safety strap up here in case your bolts or your winch fail. So the winch control for the ada ramp is located up here. We can pull that out, it’s on a nice pendant and it’s got in and out. So we’re going to run this out to lower this down, just give a little help there and it will start to come down on its own. So once we have set up all of our leveling legs and have them in the approximate locations we’ll finish dropping this down and get it leveled up. Now that we have the landing all set up here and everything is ready except the ramp and handrails, let's come around to the other side of the unit and get those. All of the ramp and handrails for the ada room are stored on this convenient rack located just around on the backside of the trailer. So let's get these pulled off here and we’ll take them out front and I’ll show you how to set them up. So I’ve brought everything around. I plugged a few of the handrails in just to help speed up the process and now I’m going to show you how to put the ramp on. I've got one side in and I get it lined up with the hole and pinned in place on one side and then you can slide this other side in to location, pin it, and we’re ready to put the last handrail on. These just line up pretty easily in the pockets here. So once the handrails are all in place, we just use the star knob to tighten them up so they don’t come back out. There’s a tube nut located inside the rail. Now that the ADA portion is set up, let’s get the standard entrances set up. Our steps and handrails are located back around in the closet, so I’ll go grab those. So up on the front here, the standard step and porch are the same on both., You remove the pins from the step because we’re going to pin these into position. You just hold this up here, get it lined up, slip the pins in... So once we put the steps on here, got the pins in place, we’ll go ahead and finish loosening up the bolt that we started earlier with the impact and wrench. We will pull that out, then we can lower the step down, be careful not to pinch yourself here as you’re setting it up. The bolts can go in the closet with the rest of the attaching parts, we’ve been collecting those over here, and that way we don’t lose them. Then let’s get the step here leveled up. The standard rails install just the same way we saw on the handicap accessible, right into the pockets, and then we’ll tighten up with our star knob...
