In Her Threads

This short film, “In Her Threads”, was created for the 15 August 2025 Commemoration in Indonesia, marking the Cessation of the Second World War in Asia. Through the story of Angeline Amaly “Ans” Jacobsz, a child who survived internment at the Darmo camp in Surabaya, her grandson Jeffrey reflects on his family’s history, their resilience, and the silent strength passed down through generations. Filmed at Ereveld Menteng Pulo and Ereveld Ancol, the video honours all who endured in silence and calls on us to remember, learn, and choose peace. Produced in collaboration with the Netherlands Defence Attaché Office in Indonesia and the Netherlands War Graves Foundation in Indonesia.
