If you want to learn about all aspects of aquatic pet health and receive a FREE copy of the Top 10 Mistakes Fish Owners Make - Click here: https://bit.ly/fishfactsavs We have many people needing help with a fish who are out of our service area, so how can you find help for your pet fish? Following these steps to find a vet near you! 1) Visit the American Association of Fish Veterinarians and click the “Find a Fish Vet” button at the top of the page, then click on your state: https://www.fishvets.org/. If the vet(s) in your state are not local, call them anyway and ask for their recommendation. (Remember, veterinary licences are STATE based!) 2) If there is no one listed in your state or near you, contact your local exotics veterinarian. Exotics veterinarians specialize in avian, reptile, small mammals or other unusual pets. Perform an internet search to find one near you. 3) If you do not have an exotic vet near you or one who will see fish, contact ANY veterinarian who is willing to help you. They can consult directly with our veterinary staff to walk them through how to perform water quality evaluations, fish physical exams, interpreting findings and creating a treatment plan. Any veterinarian is welcome to consult with ANY aquatic veterinarian for assistance with fish cases and we highly encourage all veterinarians to become even slightly familiar with fish. Be proactive and you will find your fish some qualified help! Don’t just go on the internet and buy whatever product is cheapest. This will most likely make your fish worse.
