The Greater Toronto Area, commonly referred to as the GTA, includes the City of Toronto and the regional municipalities of Durham, Halton, Peel, and York. In total, the region contains 25 urban, suburban, and rural municipalities, and covers an area of 7,125 sq kms. GTA is a great region to settle in North America with loads of work opportunities as well as a comfortable lifestyle. Markham, Vaughan, Richmond Hill, Brampton and Mississauga are the major Cities in GTA, which also share their boundaries with Toronto and have direct Road connections. The Greater Toronto Area is a commercial, distribution, financial and economic centre, being the second largest financial centre in North America. The region generates about a fifth of Canada's GDP and is home to 40% of Canada's business headquarters. There are six publicly funded colleges based in the Greater Toronto: Centennial College, Durham College, George Brown College, Humber College, Seneca College, Sheridan College. The Greater Toronto Area is home to six publicly funded universities: OCAD University, Ontario Tech University, Toronto Metropolitan University, Université de l'Ontario Français, University of Toronto, York University. The GTA has number of Highways and municipal expressways including Highway 401, which is the longest in Ontario and is one of the busiest highways in the world. Toronto Pearson International Airport in Mississauga, is Canada's largest and busiest airport. Summer in GTA is usually warm hot and moderately humid with high temperatures usually between 24 to 31 °C, and low temperatures average between 15 °C to 20 °C. In winter, typical high temperatures will range from −5 to 3 °C and low temperatures from −12 to −5 °C.
