My Journey In Health | Phylis Busienei

#MyJourneyInHealth Phylis Busienei began her journey researching water, sanitation and and menstrual hygiene challenges facing women in low-income communities. Now a Research Officer at APHRC, she collaborates with partners like Amref Health Africa to turn evidence into impact, bringing clean water and sanitation to Nairobi's informal settlements. By giving her expertise in policy development, she has gained the platform to mentor a new team of young researchers. Phylis is a fellow from the 2025 Women in Global Health Leadership Fellowship, a program designed to advance the leadership skills of talented African women who are passionate about gender equity in global health systems. It is co-designed and implemented by Moi University, University of Cape Town and University of Toronto under the Africa Health Collaborative, in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation.
