ROME & VATICAN Pt. 2 🇮🇹🇻🇦| Colosseum, Palatine Hill, Pantheon, Spanish Steps & More | TRAVEL VLOG

5th–6th October 2025 – Days 2 & 3 in Rome and the Vatican 🇮🇹🇻🇦 Day 2 morning started with a light drizzle, but it cleared up beautifully later on. We explored the Colosseum and Pantheon and it felt surreal to finally be standing inside places we once studied in Sejarah (History) class. We also stopped by the Mouth of Truth. I didn’t even know it was in Rome until we visited — clearly, my friends were doing all the planning while I just tagged along. For dinner, we went to Osteria da Fortunata and tried two of the four classic Roman pastas: Amatriciana and Carbonara. Both were delicious. 🍝 After dinner, we went to Gelateria La Romana dal 1947 and tried the Stranger Banana Split flavor, inspired by the Netflix series Stranger Things. We wrapped up Day 2 at the Spanish Steps and even dropped by the nearby McDonald’s — fun fact: it’s one of the first McDonald’s restaurants in Italy. That night, we got locked out of our building for a while, but it turned into one of the highlights of the trip. We ended up having a long-overdue girls’ talk right there on the floor, chatting about everything from makeup to relationships and careers. 💬✨ On Day 3, we tried to enter the Vatican Museums through the same-day queue. We lined up at 8 a.m., but even after trying online tickets, pricey guided tours, and 黄牛票 (scalper tickets), we couldn’t get in. Since I had a flight that afternoon, I decided to leave the queue and explore a bit on my own. I spent some quiet time outside Castel Sant’Angelo listened to a street musician, and then headed to the airport. This trip was such a meaningful one. I actually booked it on impulse (冲动) while studying for an exam, just because I needed a break and desperately wanted to get out of the house.
