On February 10, 2025, during the auspicious Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 in Prayagraj, the Akhila Bharatiya Akhara Parishad conferred the esteemed title of Vishwa Guru upon His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, the Founder-Acharya of ISKCON. This marks the first time a spiritual leader has received this honour in history. On this occasion, the President of the Akhila Bharatiya Akhara Parishad and Mahamandaleshwars of various Akharas wholeheartedly praised Srila Prabhupada for his unparalleled efforts in spreading Sanatana Dharma worldwide. Swami Kailashanand Giri Ji Maharaj, Acharya Mahamandaleshwar of Niranjani Akhara, remarked that, undoubtedly, the Vishwa Guru title was insignificant for Srila Prabhupada. Sri Mahant Ravindra Puri Maharaj, President of Akhila Bhartiya Akhara Parishad, said that the title of Vishwa Guru for Srila Prabhupada was like offering a lamp to the sun. Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Avadhoot Arun Giri Ji Maharaj of Awahan Akhara mentioned that Srila Prabhupada spread Sanatana Dharma across the world at a time when our country was facing various challenges. Mahamandaleshwar Sri Anantanand Giri Ji Maharaj said, “The divine great man whom we are honouring with the title of Vishwa Guru is not his glory; it is the glory of you and all of us.” Sri Dinesh Giri Ji Maharaj, Peethadheeshwar of Sri Budh Giri Madhi, said, “Srila Prabhupada who spread the teachings of Bhagavad-gita all over the world should have received this Vishwa Guru title 50 years ago.” Mahamandaleshwar Sadhvi Annapurna Bharathi Maharaj said, “If there is any great hero of our Sanatana Dharma and a great ideal, then it is Krishna. It becomes even more a matter of pride for us that Prabhupada Ji did the work of taking this Jagadguru to the whole world.” Mahamandaleshwar Sadhvi Atmachetananand Giri Ji Maharaj said, “Today, it is India’s good fortune that in whatever position we wanted to see Vishwa Guru.
