After two weeks, I take them down, and then re-twist (without washing). I wash after the next two weeks. I apply a little Cantu Shea Butter to the hair before I twist. Make sure you are light on the product for best results. I spray water on my ends or apply a little shea butter so that the hair doesn't unravel.
