On Monday, March 20, Argonne, in collaboration with the Better Scientific SoftWare (BSSW) organization, conducted a half-day workshop on how to make the most of the complex HPC systems users will be working with. In this video, Argonne’s Rob Latham leads a conversation looking at machine leaning behavior and identification of gaps in storage to meet the need of increased use of machine learning for scientific applications. Machine learning codes use storage differently than traditional supercomputing codes, here, Latham discusses how the use of DL I/O can help storage developers look at the behavior of typical machine learning applications without being an expert themselves.
