The scientific study of the placebo effect is usually dated to the pioneering paper published in 1955 on "The Powerful Placebo" by the anesthesiologist Henry K. Beecher (1904-1976). Beecher concluded that, across the 26 studies he analyzed, an average of 32% of patients responded to placebo. Apart from Beecher's studies, there are many more to prove that our wellbeing begins in our mind. And it really does not matter what we call this process and what the success rates are, the proven fact is that we can influence our body to be well as this is our bodies natural state of being.
