In this episode of CHITHEADS, Jacob Kyle reunites with his longtime friend and collaborator Nataraj Chaitanya, one of the earliest creative forces behind Embodied Philosophy and the person who actually coined the name CHITHEADS nearly a decade ago. Nataraj has led retreats, workshops, kirtans, and has directed yoga and meditation teacher training programs throughout the world for 20 years. After beginning a daily meditation and yoga practice at the age of 13, Nataraj immersed himself in the teachings of yoga and tantra and at the age of 16, began to share these nectarean teachings with his students. He has inspired countless seekers to take up a spiritual practice and has dedicated his life to bringing the wisdom of yoga to everyday life. His love of teaching is evident in the enthusiastic and devotional manner in which he leads his classes. He strives to create environments and experiences where people from all walks of life can directly contact the fullness of their own Being. In January 2019, he became a formal initiate as a custodian of the meditation tradition of Bhagavan Nityananda of Ganeshpuri by Mahamandaleshwar Swami Shankarananda, one of Swami Muktananda’s senior disciples. Together Nataraj and Jacob reflect on the early days of Embodied Philosophy and explore what it really means to live a tantric life of practice, devotion, and creative freedom. Their conversation moves through stories of awakening, queerness, lineage, and the art of sādhana as both discipline and play. Nataraj shares his early experiences of mantra as a lifeline during a difficult adolescence, his years of practice within living lineages of yoga and Tantra, and his realization that awareness plus aliveness equals bliss. They discuss: 🌸 The origins of Embodied Philosophy and CHITHEADS 🔥 Sādhana as the alchemy of awareness and aliveness 💫 How āsana can be understood as theatre and aesthetic ritual 🕉️ Devotion, nonduality, and “giving reality a personality” 🌈 The spiritual potential of queerness and the freedom of love 🪔 Lineage as living transmission — a mystery school for modern seekers 🚶 Pilgrimage as a way of life: meeting everything as the Goddess As the conversation unfolds, Jacob also shares that Nataraj will be joining the faculty of both Wisdom School and Sādhana School, bringing his gifts as a teacher, devotee, and creative visionary to the next phase of Embodied Philosophy’s evolution. Whether you’re a long-time listener or new to this community, this episode is a meditation on what it means to practice — to walk the path as pilgrimage, to live devotionally, and to discover the divine in the most human corners of our lives. ✴️ LEARN MORE: 🌐 embodiedphilosophy.com | tarkajournal.com 📚 Explore Wisdom School — a year of contemplative study and spiritual philosophy: https://www.embodiedphilosophy.com/wi... 🕉️ Join Sādhana School — a practice-based journey into Tantra, Yoga & subtle embodiment: https://enroll.embodiedphilosophy.com... 🪶 Follow Guest Nataraj Chaitanya Website: natarajchaitanya.com Instagram: @natarajchaitanya 🎙️ Hosted by Jacob Kyle Founder of Embodied Philosophy & The CHITHEADS Podcast Website/substack: jacobkyle.com
