The song was written by Claude Demetrius who also wrote “Hard Headed Woman’ for Presley which went to No. 1 in 1958. Demetriu also co-wrote “I Was The One” Presley’s second gold single from 1956 .”Mean Woman Blues” was a staple of Orbison’s live set and would be performed on the “Black & White” night T.V.
