What an incredible and pleasant surprise Doshaguma has been in this Beta... When watching trailers and footage from the different cons I really thought this thing was gonna be a low tier shitter, but wow I was so wrong. Doshaguma is my favorite monster in the Beta right now, I think it's more interesting than Ray Dau, more difficult, and almost more complex. Yes I'm serious. It's crazy how this thing being a an early-ish game monster even has a "last phase" state. I love this thing's moveset, at first glance you would think Doshaguma is some kind of random flailer but no, this thing has actual patterns and sequences and it feels more like it came out of a Rise combat designing team rather than a World one. This was by far my best run hunting this thing. I've been quite obsessed with Dosha and really wanted to get a solid speedrun out on it. At first it was sub 10, then sub 9, then sub 8, and now this clean sub 7. Most of the footage with the different weapons and especially Hammer that I see so far is just abusing the entire environment to deal as much damage to monsters as possible and I wish Capcom would understand that this stuff becomes boring incredibly quickly by the 3rd time you do it. I want to take a different approach and use as little as possible of this stuff in my videos. In this run I'm luring Doshaguma under rocks twice, but it's a necessary harm so that he doesn't change areas by himself and wastes time. This is as far as my gameplay will go especially if they don't tone down how often monsters change areas in the full game. I'm here to use my weapon, not the goddamn map. I also wanted to do this run without my Palico, especially to have Doshaguma's aggro non stop. So how's Hammer? So far it's been a blast. Big Bang is completely worthless and has terrible hit detection especially with what truly feels like shortened reach on Hammer in this game in general ; but the gameplan of the weapon overall has been very, very fun. Offset Golfswing feels amazing to pull off because it's a one of those rare moves now that has commitment, because you cannot roll out of the readying stance. You either pull that counter off, or you fuck up and pay the price. It's amazing. Though of course you can also just release it early if you know now isn't the time to use it. The motion values on the weapon seem fine, Golfswing still feels slightly underpowered for how much time it takes to get to use it, but Mighty Charge really, really strong.
