Chatsworth House At Christmas 2024 -The Market - Decorated house & Amazing Christmas light trail.

Our Christmas season began with a trip to Chatsworth House, the Palace of the Peak. At this time of year the House is decorated for Christmas and each year a different theme is chosen as inspiration. This year the theme is a new Christmas story "Henry and the Lion`s Christmas Feast. The story is itself inspired by Chatsworth. Henry, grandson of the second Duke of Devonshire, searches for the Chatsworth Lion. The Lion is in turn searching for a Christmas Feast. Their adventures inspire the decoration of more than 20 rooms that visitors explore. Outside the house a Christmas Market is filled with gifts and foods to enhance the festive season. Also outside an illuminated trails fills the garden with light and colour as darkness falls. One facade of the House is lit up by a projection of the story of Henry and the Lion. We emerged from the House as the setting sun was lighting up the building with a golden light and the magnificent Emperor Fountain was still soaring into the evening sky. This was a really enjoyable start to our Christmas season. Over the next few weeks we will be sharing our Christmas Holiday from last year. In December 2023 we flew into Basel (Switzerland) before wandering through Freiburg, Karlsruhe, Augsburg, Munich, Salzburg and Graz as we made our way to enjoy Christmas in Vienna.
