The South Fork Shenandoah is something special. Every time we hit this water, we seem to do better than the last time, as we grow accustomed to the structure and patterns. We were first exposed to this 2.5 mile stretch of the South Fork a few weeks ago. This was the put-in on a previous drift on the river, and was the beginning of an 8.5 mile float that day. While fishing this stretch that day, my buddy Mike and I did very well (combined for exactly 40 fish) and took note of how productive it was. We decided that we would later dedicate a day picking apart this 2.5 mile segment... betting that we could double our success if we just slowed it down a bit. We were exactly right!
