Consider this one a PSA to always wear a PDF when kayaking. On this day I did not end up needing it but was moments away from quite literally a total loss of ALOT of fishing gear. Thankful I stayed close to the launch that morning to start the day. Not only that, but I also deiced to fish that morning and wasn't planning on it until the night prior. This matters because the following weekend I went somewhere totally different; and I would have found out in 30' of water that I had a hole on an unfamiliar lake. Call it fate, luck, whatever. But I'm grateful to have learned this lesson to always do proper repairs, and check them from time to time. This could have been avoided if I had done a better job fixing the holes to begin with.
