British Couple's First Impression of Chicago (We Were SHOCKED!)

So many people warned us not to visit Chicago… but we decided to see it for ourselves…and we’re so glad we did. As a British couple travelling the U.S., we wanted to experience the real Chicago, from the famous skyline to the local food scene. We took the train straight from O’Hare Airport into the city (just $5 each for a 24 hour pass, which was such a bargain!) Once we arrived at Grand Station, we walked a further 30 minutes to the Chicago River Walk, started exploring, and two lovely ladies actually gifted us tickets for the Chicago Architecture Boat Tour, which ended up being one of the highlights of the day. Afterward, we grabbed a bite at Al’s #1 Italian Beef Sandwich, and wow… definitely a must try. Between the food, the views, and the unexpected kindness of people, Chicago really surprised us in the best way.
