We take a POV ride on 2x KONE escalators at the Altenessen Mitte stadtbahn station in Essen, Germany. 🇩🇪 This is a really nice station slightly out from the city centre. Some of these escalators also sound great when starting up! They were built in 2001 at the Hattingen, Germany factory and are the type RTV-HD-999(S). Enjoy! If you do, please LIKE and SUBSCRIBE. While the station architecture is beautiful and these run well, they are dirty and one of them (the left exit to street) was completely broken and looked like it had been for a long time. So many stations around the city had broken escalators of all brands and other stations have had their escalators replaced very prematurely due to the poor upkeep and vandalism. Some of the locals told me about this when I was filming as they were curious what I was doing… Being close to Dortmund, it’s surprising because the escalators in Dortmund are looked after really well. *This station is bigger than Kaiser Wilhelm park and Karlsplatz nearby - both of them have 4x escalators (just one end of the platform has escalator access), but here there are 8x escalators as both sides of the platform have escalator access. These are the escalators for the Exits A-C side. 3 are working and one (not shown in this clip) is broken. The up ride is in a separate video and the exits D-E side is coming soon too. 👍
