2026 has been a fast paced crazy year so far! I’m busier than ever at work. Personal and family is just as busy! There is a lot of dealing with a world that seems too busy, too fast paced, very different than what I expected when I turned 65 years old! All this to say, I made a mistake three weeks ago! I wanted to release this version of this song, but instead released the ALT TAKE! Anyhow, YouTube algorithm don’t mean much to me these days and I want to share this better version with you, my YouTube community! So, I’m releasing it for those that might care! I think it’s cleaner and better played than my other version this year! The previous version 2019 was over the original drum part has different vibe. All of my covers of this song are YouTube worthy, but I liked my first minute thirty of this version best. Enjoy those that watch! I appreciate the feedback always! Please like and subscribe! But please LIKE! I think that helps! Maybe not? “We're in This Love Together" is a 1981 hit song by Al Jarreau. It was the first of three single releases from his fifth studio album, Breakin' Away. The song was his first and biggest chart hit. Jarreau and the song's producer Jay Graydon were going through songs to record in search of a hit single. Despite being a critically acclaimed jazz vocalist, Graydon felt Jarreau needed a hit to reach a wider audience. "We're In This Love Together" was the last song at the bottom of the box, to which Graydon said "This better be our hit." Although the song was closely associated with Jarreau, the song wasn't written for him in mind. According to the song's co-writer Keith Stegall, "We're In This Love Together" was originally intended for Jarreau's labelmates at Warner Bros. Records, Neil Larsen and Buzz Feiten for their 1980 album The Larsen-Feiten Band. Instead of being given to them, the song was mistakenly given to Jarreau. Stegall also noted the song was first pitched to singer Johnny Mathis, but did not receive a response from him.[3] Much later, Mathis covered the song in his 2008 album, A Night to Remember. Four single releases made the charts: "We're in This Love Together", "Breakin' Away", "Teach Me Tonight", and "Roof Garden", the latter being only released in The Netherlands, Belgium and France. At the Grammy Awards in 1982 the album was given the prize for Best Pop Vocal Performance, Male, while "(Round, Round, Round) Blue Rondo à la Turk" received the award for Best Jazz Vocal Performance, Male. The album was also nominated for Album of the Year.
