Join us as we embark on a two day mission to climb Angola's highest mountain: Morro do Moco (Mount Moco), located high up on the Bié Plateau in Huambo Province. Morro do Moco is 2620m high and can be trekked up in 2.5 to 3 hours, starting from Kanjonde village: https://goo.gl/maps/h7AHyhaSB6gpGn418. The entire trek is just over 14km. You do not need any specialist equipment to climb Morro do Moco. Note that this is a sacred site to the local population, so you need to get permission to climb from the "Soba", a traditional community leader. He will also allocate guides to accompany you. Be sure to check the weather forecast before you go, as you do not want to get caught up there in a storm! ⏱️TIMESTAMPS⏱️ 00:00 - Intro 00:13 - Leaving Luanda 01:12 - Dondo, on Kwanza River 01:33 - Road Trip 02:30 - Arrival at Kanjonde Village 03:30 - Camping in the rain 05:10 - Starting the hike 05:56 - Last section 06:31 - Arrival at summit 06:58 - Hiking down 08:44 - Final Thoughts 🔗 LINKS 🔗 For updates on my upcoming Bradt Guidebook to Tunisia (1st Edition), published worldwide in June 2023, please like and follow our Facebook page: / bradttunisia You can buy my Bradt Travel Guidebooks to Angola, Equatorial Guinea and (from June 2023) Tunisia, using this link: https://www.bradtguides.com/author/os...
