Testing The New Rockshox Charger 3.1 Damper on the Zeb

We mountain bikers are always tinkering with our bikes to see how we might make the rides just that much better. About a year ago, I bought the Rockshox Zeb Ultimate for my Santa Cruz Megatower. The main reason was because of the new Buttecups on the Zeb (which the Lyrik on the bike did not have). In the end, that was a bad choice, because while the mid-stroke on the Zeb was better than the Lyrik I had, the Zeb was a bit rough off-the-top, and I struggled to get full travel, even with the compression knobs fully open. Rumors swirled about a new Charger 3.1 Damper, and how it was supposed to solve the two aforementioned issued I had. I waited for months after the official release to get the damper, and FINALLY, the new damper showed up at my door. It was easy to install (just include this during a lower leg service), and boy did it change the fork...but was it as good as I thought it was going to be? Well, watch the video and see.
