“You may get old but your heart should stay young. Helping people is the foundation of happiness,” shared Madam Lee Wan, a 76-year-old Micro-jobber at Thye Hua Kwan Moral Charities (THKMC). As the year draws to a close, these words remind us that ageing is not about slowing down – it is about staying connected, purposeful and engaged in ways that matter. DBS Foundation has partnered Thye Hua Kwan Moral Charities to broaden seniors’ access to micro-jobs via the Senior Micro-jobs Programme. Through our partnership, we met seniors who choose to spend their days supporting fellow seniors who are immobile, delivering food, and building connections with others along the way. By giving back to the communities around them, they have strengthened their own well-being too – physically, emotionally and socially. There is much more to look forward to in the coming year where seniors will benefit from the new job-matching app to be developed by THKMC, with the help of DBS Group Tech. This app will create more accessible micro-job opportunities so that seniors can continue to contribute meaningfully to society on their own terms. #DBSFoundation #ImpactBeyondBanking #THKMC #ActiveAgeing #SocialServices
