Last night, I looked up at the sky and found a star – the brightest of them all, struggling in an equal battle with the moon. Was that you from Heaven? Or was it one of your innumerable avatars? If so, which one? You were a constellation no one could connect at once. You decorated yourself with the choicest diamonds – even ragas I hated, you had them chiseled to your cut, and even God smiled the way they shined on you. After all these years, do you still show me the light? The light we all reach for? Alas, I am but an imbecile, serving in Hades. Even Sisyphus knows better. I cannot even climb the mountain you scaled alone; I stand beneath, petrified of the altitude. Yet I try again, like a traitor damned to be stirred in the deepest cauldrons of Hell for eternity, I try again. It is all I can do. I look up yet again, and the light never dims. Is it Bhairavi?
