Description: This is definitely my most unique, and likely my best piece I’ve ever written yet! I’m pretty proud of the end result, and I think I accomplished the purpose I was going for. It’s meant to show mischief, nobility, playfulness, and deceptiveness. It gets very rowdy in some parts, which is quite new to my style of composing. It is an attempt at mirroring the playtime arabesque, which is another one of my favorite pieces I’ve written. The underlying main theme(occurring three times throughout the piece) opens it up with dark and shady tonal informality. This is brought to an end quickly by a free spirited melody with undertones of mystery. Afterward the theme is brought to light again, but it’s building up more suspense to the soon to come conclusion. 4thly, a new stoic theme comes out and adds a bit of rest to the more unruly parts of the piece. This is expanded on with a stormy end to the theme. A soft, delicate song is played to calm you down before the conclusion, and the main theme comes back in a sort of echo to finish the piece! That’s a pretty suspenseful way to narrate it I made up lol Composer’s notes: Besides pedaling, I don’t really have any composer’s notes on this piece, outside the directives in the music. For pedaling, I didn’t write any in, but the main theme should have bit. It’s meant to be vague, and consistent pedaling is crucial. For the breaking off themes, they should have little to no pedaling outside of the spots with heavy tenuto/long notes, fogginess(like the stormy section which should have a lot) or slowing down sections.
