In this video, N'Dew, a university student juggling various part-time jobs, commutes from his apartment near Kasetsart University to his workplace in the Ladprao District. He uses his folding bike for the first and last segments of his journey, covering about 5 km, and then travels another 10 km on both the BTS and Yellow Monorail. N'Dew's folding bike is crucial for his commute. As he moves around the city for different jobs and classes, the bike's foldability allows him to easily hop on any Bangkok metro lines and buses, saving approximately 15,000 - 20,000 THB per year that would otherwise be spent on private or motorbike taxis. We hope this video illustrates how a folding bike can be a viable alternative for city commuting, offering both financial and time savings by integrating with metro services of Bangkok. The channel’s vision is simple: Bangkok street belongs to the people, not environmentally-unfriendly cars. Until the day comes when a city like Bangkok is blessed with dedicated cycling paths or is entirely car-free, we will persist in navigating our ride through the challenges of bad traffic, unpredictable drivers, urban pollution, and scorching heat.
