Sandi Gilsdorf is a busy mom with kids involved in many activities. She has rheumatoid arthritis in her ankle and experienced pain and discomfort for many years. Ultimately, she decided it was time to address the issue. She was diagnosed with vascular necrosis of the talus. It's a condition in which the large bone in your ankle loses blood supply, becomes weak and fractures. Treatment options are limited. In most cases, an ankle fusion or lower leg amputation is recommended. Thankfully, a groundbreaking procedure is now available.
