We created a server when the game was still in its alpha state and have seen it progress over the years (this server is old!) - we were always afraid something would break when we upgraded the server to a new version and at some point things did break and were patched. We decided to stick to 1.12.xx for the longest time. But missed out on all the extra's and additions Minecraft brought and the world felt a little empty at times. Back in 2011 Mark R. had the server running on his personal internet connection, Andy C. took over the server admin and we actually had the server hosted on a remote server at some point. But hosting a server like that is expensive and has its limitations so Andy (Synthmonkey) decided to host it on his own computer gain. And he decided to take the plunge and upgrade the server to the latest 1.21.10 (the newest iteration at time of making this video). Which is a huge improvement as already - even in the old parts - changes can be seen, rabbits walking around, turtles and fish inhabiting the waters and even dolphins vocalizing and jumping out of the water. We're bound to be on this server more - perfect time of the year to do so actually. And my wife Elise will also be on. She's very keen on the aquatic life that is very much enhanced since 1.12.xx. And now her Ryzen powered Thinkpad is even up to the task of running it with Shaders. Music by C418 (the Music in Minecraft) is free to use in Minecraft related videos on YouTube.
