Welcome to the twenty-third Wednesdays with Bob video! In this English lesson I'll talk about the seasons of life. Remember even though this isn't a traditional English lesson, it is still a great way to practice your English listening skills! Here is a great challenge: After watching the video read the transcript below out loud to practice your English speaking and then watch the video a second time to reinforce what you have learned. As you continue to learn English this is a great strategy for retaining new words and phrases! I hope you enjoyed this English lesson! TRANSCRIPT: Well, hey, welcome to Wednesday's with Bob Number 23. Remember, even though this isn't really an English lesson, there are word for word English subtitles if you need to turn them on, and there's a complete transcript in the description. Good morning. Welcome to the great outdoors. It is the beginning of Fall here in Ontario, Canada. And again, I just like to be outside when the seasons change. Right now it is the changing of the seasons. You can see the trees behind me are just starting to turn color. The Fall colors are beginning, and it's one of the most beautiful times of year. I like Winter the best, you know that. And I like Fall and Spring 'cause it's cooler and Summer is a little too hot for me, but I also like the changing of the seasons. It's really cool when Winter starts to go away and spring begins. It's really cool when Summer starts to end and Fall begins. I just love it when the trees start to turn color. And it just reminded me that we use seasons to talk about our lives as well. In your life, you go through different seasons. I remember when I was really young, when I was a kid, that season of my life was amazing. I just rode my bike all the time. I just played outside after school, I helped on the farm a lot, but that season of my life was a really nice season. I remember when I was a teenager, that season of my life was a little more rough. I fought with my parents a bit. I didn't like all the rules all the time, sometimes I stayed out late when I wasn't supposed to. That season of my life was really cool for me, but my relationship with my parents wasn't very good during that season. I remember when I was in my 20s, when I was finishing university, when I started dating Jen, that season of my life was amazing. I got along really well with my parents. I think I was a little more mature, and it was just fun to go out on dates with Jen and get to know each other and then to eventually get married. That was a great season in my life. I had a lot of freedom back then. And then I got to the season of being a dad. When we started having children, that was a wonderful season as well. I did like the responsibility. I liked having children. When I was in my early 30s having a whole house full of kids, really little kids was super fun and I really, really enjoyed it. And now we've kind of moved into the season where I'm getting older. The kids are getting older, my oldest son is actually at university, my youngest four still live with us and obviously are in school. This season of my life is really cool. Jen and I just yesterday were talking about how we've enjoyed every season of our life. Every season that we've been through so far has been really, really fun, and we try really hard to enjoy the season that we're in when we're in it because we don't want to think too much about the future and we don't want to dwell too much on the past. So, I'm hoping you're in a really cool season of your life right now. By the way, if you've noticed this members only video, I actually released to everybody. I thought that every few months I should just let everyone have a little taste of what you get if you have a membership. So enjoy this video. These Wednesday videos, again, aren't designed to be English lessons, but they can be English lessons in a way if you use them for listening practice, if you just use them to get to know me a little bit better as well. But hello to all of you and a special thank you to all of you who are members, who have clicked that join button to support my channel. Thank you very much. I'm glad that you are in a season of your life where you're able to support me in the work I do here on YouTube, helping people learn English. So again, it is a beautiful time out here. I should actually- Let me do this, let me take this camera, let me just tilt up a little bit so that you can see how beautiful it is out here right now. It is just a gorgeous day.
