Arnold Schwarzenegger was born in a small village in Austria. As a child, his father wanted him to grow up to become a soccer player. Thus, he enrolled in his school's youth soccer team. Arnold was baffled, he had never seen anyone lift such heavyweights. He was impressed and thus, began his journey towards weightlifting. Arnold began lifting weights at the age of 15. However, his parents allowed him to go to the gym only thrice a week. Arnold, therefore, converted the smallest room in his house into a gym and worked out religiously each day. All of Arnold's hard work, determination, and commitment paid off when he became known as the best bodybuilder in the world. People gave him the name The Austrian Oak and after he won the Mr. Universe title the second time, Hollywood opened its doors to Schwarzenegger. His first film was aptly titled, Hercules. However, it was only in 1977, after the release of the documentary Pumping Iron that Schwarzenneger truly tasted fame. The same year, he did Stay Hungry with Jeff Bridges and Sally Field. Jeff told Arnold to quit his side gigs and focus on acting full time. The rest we know is history. Today, Arnold Schwarzenegger is not only the most accomplished bodybuilder and a massive Hollywood star, but he is also an influential political figure.
