Ready to roll? Examining the readiness and role of Canadian nurses as the country prepares for legalization of non-medical cannabis Recorded October 16, 2018 Please contact [email protected] for a certificate of participation. Join us for this webinar to learn more about nurses’ knowledge of non-medical cannabis use. CNA conducted a national survey on this important topic to inform our policy work and ensure federal legislation meets the needs of nurses in Canada. We will also discuss CNA’s Health Canada-funded cannabis think-tank, which was recently held in Ottawa, and review perspectives on how legalization may impact both non-medical and medical cannabis use. Presented by: Karey Shuhendler, RN, MN, CCHN(C) Program Lead, Public Policy, Canadian Nurses Association Karey contributes to the development of work aimed at improving health outcomes for people in Canada. She is passionate about the fields of public and community health nursing as mechanisms to protect and promote health and she demonstrates that passion through nursing and policy work in Canada and abroad. Karey oversees CNA’s work on substance use, contributes to CNA’s policy work related to legalization of non-medical cannabis and facilitates the development of related CNA resources.
