Rozin's perspective, influenced by the history of emotions, leads to insights about the weaknesses and strengths of Israelis, revealing new connections between identity, morality, state-sanctioned violence, politics, and law, along with a new understanding of the motivations behind policymakers' decisions. Orit Rozin is a Professor in the Department of Jewish History at Tel Aviv University and directs the Chaim Weizmann Institute for the Study of Zionism and Israel. She serves as co-editor of the Journal of Israeli History. Her research spans the social, legal, and cultural history of modern Israel, with particular focus on citizenship and identity. In recent years, Rozin has approached Israel's political and security challenges through the lens of the history of emotions, and is currently researching Israeli responses to Palestinian terror attacks during the 1970s.
