This Mexican metropolis is a lot of things - it's vibrant, multicultural, and has one of the biggest economies in the country; it's also largely a product of its position on the US/Mexico border. So I'll just say that there are a grip of articles on the internet, in English, about the city. I encourage you to search out more details if you're interested - try not to ONLY read about the bad stuff, though. There is a great book on Tijuana's Prohibition past, however, centered on the Agua Caliente resort; the title is Satan's Playground, a reference to an old nickname of the city.
