The First Pro Skatepark in Laos Will Change Skate Culture Forever

In 2020 we made a video to raise money to help build the first pro skatepark in Laos since it was the last country in Southeast Asia without a skatepark. The skateboarding community in Laos has been rapidly growing over the past few years and now, thanks to Tom Drury and the team at Make Life Skate Life, the first skatepark in Laos has become a reality and is now open to the public of Laos to use for free. There will be a loaner program for Lao people who don’t own a skateboard to borrow a skateboard to use at the park and free lessons on the weekends from 9-11am with local coaches who will be teaching techniques, wellbeing and the basics of skateboarding. This is going to change the skate culture in Laos forever and we can’t wait to see where the skating community will take it as the culture spreads across the country.
