VENICE, CA — Friday, October 10, 2025 — A coordinated multi-agency cleanup took place Friday morning along the Venice Beach Boardwalk, part of the City of Los Angeles’ continued effort to improve sanitation, safety, and public access along the popular coastal destination. The operation was led by the Department of Public Works in collaboration with Los Angeles Park Rangers, Clean Harbors Environmental Services, LA County Beaches and Harbors, and the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA). During the sweep, Environmental Compliance Inspectors (E.C.I.) from Public Works and Park Rangers directed several individuals camping beneath the pagoda to vacate the area so crews could proceed with the scheduled cleanup. The individuals complied and moved their belongings without incident, allowing the cleanup to begin smoothly. Inspectors sorted through remaining items and removed hazardous materials such as batteries, aerosols, and other potentially toxic waste. Clean Harbors personnel in orange vests collected hazardous items for safe disposal, while Public Works crews in yellow safety vests cleared remaining debris from the site. Advance cleanup notices had been posted before enforcement began. Representatives from Councilwoman Traci Park’s office were present to oversee coordination between city departments. LAHSA outreach workers provided on-site assistance, offering services such as hygiene kits, food, clothing, and bottled water to unhoused individuals. No arrests or citations were reported. These ongoing coastal cleanups are part of Los Angeles’ broader strategy to maintain public spaces while providing outreach and support services aimed at connecting unhoused residents with housing and long-term assistance programs. Santa Monica Closeup continues to document coastal enforcement, homelessness outreach, and public safety operations along the Westside. #VeniceBeach #Cleanup #Homelessness #PublicSafety #LAPD #LawEnforcement #CityOfLosAngeles #CoastalCleanup — 𝗖𝗢𝗣𝗬𝗥𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧 𝗡𝗢𝗧𝗜𝗖𝗘 This video is protected by copyright and provided for personal viewing only.
