I watched a lot of videos on the Torso S4's features, and I thought I could reproduce some of its functionality on my Eurorack system. Obviously, the methods for achieving certain effects are different, and the workflow is totally different. But I wanted to take this opportunity to create something with intention, knowing full well that my system was at a disadvantage and that it wouldn't be a 1:1 comparison. I started with a sample recorded a few years ago at the seaside, of small waves breaking on the shore. The sea was calm and already created a minimum of unexpected variations. I inserted the sample into the Norns Eterna script, a 6-voice sampler and sequencer for creating rhythmic textures and patterns from a single audio file created by etsuko. I modulated and created a rhythmic pattern within Eterna and split the stereo output: one channel went to the Arbhar, the other to the Rings input, to simulate both the granulator and the S4 resonator. The result is two stereo outputs from Arbhar, which handles the raw audio, and Rings, which can create fantastic strumming sounds as each wave passes. The waves are helped to take on a more “musical” and less random rhythm by Eterna's pattern generator. I added a synth line with Poly Cinematic to support the composition with some low end. Headphones or good studio monitors recommended. Hope you enjoy. As always, thank you for watching. All the gear and pedals are not sponsored, they are all purchased and tested with my own money unless stated otherwise. ► Instagram: / paolopino.musica ► bandcamp: https://paolopino-ambient.bandcamp.com/ ► https://linktr.ee/f.zero
