A quick video discussing the Nikon Z 180-600mm F5.6-6.3 for wildlife photography, talking about the pros and cons of this popular choice! Hey guys, just a quick video to share a few thoughts on the Nikon 180-600! Having used this lens a number of times now I feel its a great option for many photographers but with one major limitation of the 6.3 aperture, the personally I just find a little slow! The lens is well built, Sharp and great as a portable wildlife photography lens, especially if you want favour convenience over all out quality. The internal zooming is great, with multiple function-buttons and more, but for me the slower 6.3 aperture is tricky when it comes to shooting in the UK, especially in the winter! The lens offers great value especially if you also want to shoot video and make the most of autofocus on modern Nikons Z cameras but I feel if you just shoot stills.... you might be better served looking at the used market for a older 300mm 2.8 / 200-400 f4 or 500 f4, that can often be picked up for cheaper or a tiny bit more in mint condition - but offer far more in terms of optics and aperture possibilities! I would personally always recommend you pick up used gear from a reputable retailer - Wex have always been my choice and with the 1 year warrantee they offer on used kit, you can buy with confidence! Some great options right now... This Nikon 200-400 f4 is under £1300! https://tidd.ly/4h16tVP This Nikon 300mm 2.8 in fantastic condition for a similar pice https://tidd.ly/4i0oK7a Or just check here to see whats up for grabs in the tele section https://tidd.ly/43mef9E If you want to see more of my work be sure to follow the link to my channel where you'll find loads more videos on wildlife photography and gear!
