The Four States of Watercolor Wet on Wet (wet paper and loaded wet brush) Wet on Dry (loaded wet brush and a dry paper) Dry on Dry (dry paper and a unloaded damp brush) Dry on Wet (unloaded damp brush on wet paper) Use all four states of watercolor when creating your watercolor artwork. If you are getting only fuzzy, ill-defined watercolors it is because you need to be patient and let your paper dry, then work with the other states. Combined these four wet/dry states of your paper/brushes with the saturation/consistency of the colors you are mixing in your palette and your paintings will begin to have more contrast, saturation, structure and detail. Practice and practice some more until you understand how to work with each state. Thanks for watching this video. if you think it was helpful, give me a"Like" or "Follow" me.
