We are the Original Bring a Trailer Local Partners for the San Francisco Bay Area and we want to welcome you to the auction of this incredible 1980 Porsche 911 Targa! It's live on Bring a Trailer, ending on Wednesday, October 22 at 12:47pm Pacific and you can visit the auction here: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/198... Our client purchased this car in 2002 and began an 18 month rebuild of the engine and the transmission. A master machinist at Mare Island Naval Base, our client was able to do a lot of work himself, farming out any necessary work to specialist around the bay area. The interior received a refresh in 2006 and the Targa top and seals were all replaced and immediately stored. Decades later and only 4k miles onwards, this car looks, starts, drives just as it did when the restoration was completed. You will be hard pressed to find a nicer SC targe with this mileage anywhere. It's a real time warp machine harkening back to the 80's & 90's of Porsche's legendary 911s! Here is a partial list of items refreshed or replaced under the current owner's stewardship: Full Engine Rebuild: including new bearings, bushings, rings, seals, hardware, and sensors. Also installed an upgraded Turbo oil pump and turbo sump cover plate. Full Transaxle Rebuild: 915 transmission, including an XT-032 Bearing Retainer Plate upgrade done by S-Car-Go, added a short shift kit. Drilled Brake Discs: Replaced OEM front and rear brake discs with drilled performance discs Brakes: brake pads and rebuilt brake calipers, replaced the master cylinder, brake switches and booster added stainless steel hoses Suspension: Added Turbo tie-rods and de-cambered ball joints from Elephant Racing Ignition: Replaced the CDI with a 911 Perma-Tune ignition module Exhaust: Replaced the stock muffler with a custom Flowmaster system, featuring dual exhaust tips (still passes CA Smog) Wheel Bearings: Replaced front wheel bearings and seals as well as ball joints and sway bar bushings. New Catalytic Converter Targa Top: Targa top refinished and all new seals Windows: Replaced power window switches Dimmer: Replaced turn signal dimmer switch Headlights: Converted the headlight assembly for H4 bulbs New O2 Sensor Rebuilt Altenator Seats: Seats and visors were recovered Interior: New door panels, side panels and carpet -------- If you enjoyed this video, please like, share and subscribe!
