For Soprano and Piano I. Kim'At Shakulah/Almost Bereaved (Poem: Tali Asher) II. The Fallen Soldier (Poem: Dael Rodriguez Garcia) III. Dayenu/Enough (Poem: Dafna Shen) All translations by Heather Silverman, Michael Bohnen and Rachel Korazim. Use of Poetry Permissions granted by the authors. Use of Paintings and Photography granted by both Doni Silver Simons and Dafna Shen. Reflections feature songs from Shiva, a published Israeli poetry anthology presented by Professor Rachel Korazim. These pieces were originally created for the Helfman Composers October 7th Music Project. In Kim’At Shakulah or Almost Bereaved, Tali Asher poetically describes her angst as a mother on the cusp of bereavement. Set in the original Hebrew, this piece is dedicated to the bereaved and almost-bereaved Mothers. In The Fallen Soldier, Dael Rodriguez Garcia visually depicts the fallen soldier as a coin falling into a tzedakah/charity box. As the poem concludes, the poor parents who have given their sons as charity are now beggars—longing for their sons’ return. May their memory be a blessing. In Dayenu or Enough, Dafna Shen takes the Passover poem to reflect upon the feeling of “enough”—that we have arrived at a time to look towards hope. Featuring Anna Davidson, Soprano and Gabrielle Sipen, piano. ©2026GreenWillMusic
