Mr Tang Chew Fue is the 4th generation owner of Tong Ah Eating House. The coffeeshop business was established in 1939 by Mr Tang’s great-grandfather. Coffee is self-ground from a blend of Robusta and Arabica coffee beans. Their coffee is rich in flavour with aromatic depth. French toast is offered at Tong Ah, a less often seen item at coffeeshops. Scoops of homemade Kaya are also served on the side, for you to go with! The typical Kaya and butter toast bread is also served at Tong Ah. A set comes with 2 half boiled eggs, toast, together with coffee or tea. Tong Ah serves their breakfast menu from 7am all the way till 9pm. Zi Char is offered at this coffeeshop from 11am. Some of the specialties include Pig Trotter Fried Bee Hoon, Claypot Chicken, Homemade Tofu and Assam Fish Head.
