Rainforest Rescue Community Tree Planting 2021 | Let's Plant a Rainforest!

Back in 2015, Rainforest Rescue was approached by land-owner Annie Shoenberger to transform fifteen hectares of old sugarcane fields into thriving Daintree lowland rainforest. With the help of many individuals, organisations and businesses, we cultivated and started planting trees and revived a wetland area to attract native wildlife. Tens of thousands of trees have been planted at NightWings to repair this damaged land and over tens of thousands of seedlings are growing and calling this land home. For this Community Tree Planting day , held on 1st May 2021, we had 119 Rainforest Rescuers coming from near and far, determined to make a big impact – especially since last year’s event was cancelled due to COVID-19. And we did, indeed, make a tremendous impact. 3,500 Trees are now on their way to becoming rainforest habitat where once there was only sugar cane.
