Florida Fishing Road Trip Part 1: Spanish in the Back

Romo (   / romo7493  ) and myself embark on a 19 hours drive south to the promised region of Florida to Kayak Fish for a few days, we left our home state of PA early Thursday night on March 30th with no real idea of where we were headed, we were coming through Baltimore when we started researching the Destin area and found out that the Cobia fishing was decent there and figured why not, we drove through rain and thunder and eventually made it to the Emerald Coast of Destin only to find windier conditions than forecasted, we spent the evening exploring and probing the local inlet with no bites. We woke up at a very average hour of 6:30 the next morning and checked out the beach, waves were still a bit high to comfortably surf launch so we instead fished the back waters near a bridge. Jigged and plugged some docks and flats and eventually found some Spanish around the bridge, overall the fishing was very tough and we concluded that we probably should have gone to the East Coast somewhere....... Eventually my mirage drive for my kayak broke and we called it around 4pm, went and got a new part for the kayak and back to the hotel for maintenence and shrimp and also to Grill some Spanish.... Hopefully you enjoy!
